Submissions

We publish short fiction — roughly 500 to 5,000 words — four times a year, online and in print. We read year-round, we respond to everything within six weeks, and we pay: $50 per story on publication, plus contributor copies, plus our undying and frankly excessive gratitude.

We have no house style and no genre allergies. We like stories with a working heart, sentences that earn their keep, and endings that change the temperature of the room. If your story is strange, good. If it is quiet, also good. If it is both, hurry.

Simultaneous submissions are welcome — just tell us promptly if a story lands elsewhere, and we'll cheer from here. One submission at a time, please. All rights revert to you on publication.
